Our case studies showcase real-world projects delivered by our team across the industry, bringing deep, hands-on experience into every engagement at OneWorld Sustainability Consult.
The Sustainability Challenge
Integrating climate risk, biodiversity, and nature-based considerations into mining operations is an emerging global priority. For companies in the extractive sector, adapting to climate change while ensuring a ‘Just Transition’ and minimising negative impacts on communities and ecosystems, remains complex and critical.
Our Nature-Positive Approach
We developed and implemented a Biodiversity Strategy and Offset Management Plan in one of Ghana’s key forest reserves. Our work included coordinating independent biodiversity audits and engaging relevant regulatory stakeholders.
The Biodiversity Solution
We advanced biodiversity offset strategies aligned with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Ghana’s Forestry Commission requirements.
Verified Outcomes
A 10-year costed Biodiversity Offset Management Plan (BOMP) was submitted and approved by the Ghana Forestry Commission.
Implementation of the BOMP involved 60 hectares of enrichment planting within a Forest Reserve in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
